How it works

A launchpad where every coin is priced in volatility.

MarketVix lets anyone launch an ERC-20 coin that trades against a volatility index instead of ETH. Holders earn a share of every trade, and liquidity graduates from a bonding curve into an AMM without anyone pressing a button.

Network & status

MarketVix runs on Robinhood Chain, an EVM network built on Arbitrum Orbit. This build targets Robinhood Chain.

Get started

  1. Add Robinhood Chain

Connect your wallet here and approve the network switch, or add it by hand: chain ID 4663, RPC https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com, currency ETH.

  2. Bring ETH and a stablecoin

You need a little ETH for gas and the vault's stablecoin to mint sVIX or cVIX. Bridge from Ethereum with the official Robinhood Chain bridge.

  3. Launch a coin

Open Create token, fill in the details, pick sVIX or cVIX and a reward rate, then confirm in your wallet.

  4. Mint quote tokens and trade

On any market page, mint sVIX or cVIX in the vault panel, then buy and sell once the order fills at the next index price update.

  5. Watch it graduate

Buy enough to push the curve past 5,000 quote tokens. The phase flips to graduated and trades route to the AMM.

Launch lifecycle

  1. Mint quote tokens

Deposit the vault stablecoin in the sVIX or cVIX vault from any market page. Your order fills at the next index price, and you can redeem back the same way.

  2. Launch a coin

The factory deploys a 1-billion-supply ERC-20, its bonding curve and its AMM in one transaction. Tax and quote asset are fixed forever and token ownership is renounced.

  3. Trade the curve

Buys and sells hit a virtual constant-product curve. Every transfer pays the holder tax in coins.

  4. Graduate automatically

The buy that lifts the curve's quote reserve past 5,000 moves the remaining coins and quote into the AMM in the same transaction. If seeding fails, the whole buy reverts.

  5. Trade the AMM

After graduation, trades route to the constant-product MarketVix AMM, with a 0.3% pool fee on top of the holder tax. Its liquidity is locked permanently.

Holder rewards

Each coin has a tax between 1% and 5%, chosen at launch. It's taken in coins on every transfer, including buys and sells, and redistributed to every eligible holder in proportion to their balance using reflection accounting. Balances grow on their own; there's no claim step.

Example

A coin with a 3% tax. Someone buys 1,000,000 coins. They receive 970,000, and 30,000 coins are shared across all holders. A holder with 10% of the eligible supply gains about 3,000 coins.

The curve and AMM reserves are excluded from rewards, so fees go to people rather than pools.

Graduation is based on the curve's real quote reserve, not a last-trade market cap, so it can't be triggered by one odd print. Charts plot quote tokens per gross coin for each confirmed trade, in quote-token units rather than USD.

Data & oracle

A Convex backend polls Yahoo Finance ^VIX and Deribit BTC DVOL every five minutes. It signs price updates to the quote-token contracts with a dedicated relay wallet and indexes launches, trades and graduations after three block confirmations. The browser never writes market data, so it can't be forged from the client.

Limits

  • sVIX and cVIX track their index only up to the vault cap (VIX 100, DVOL 200) and only while the index is being published. Minting is limited by the vault's liquidity-provider capital.
  • The VIX reading currently comes from Yahoo Finance and is being replaced by a licensed Cboe feed.
  • The indexer handles up to 100 blocks and 200 events per cycle.
  • Metadata signatures support regular wallets; smart-contract wallets aren't supported yet.
  • The contracts haven't had an independent audit.
